Step 1: The Core Four
You have a niche right? Something you can describe in one or two words.
(If you don’t, then you have a problem and you need to think about it)
From a general perspective, my niche is Email marketing.
Now, you need to turn your niche into four core topics.
Essentially, you want these four topics to be something that:
- Your audience struggles with
- Your offers are related to
But if you don’t have enough data yet, you can just pick the four popular topics from your niche.
For me these four topics are:
- Email marketing strategy
- Email list growth
- Email copywriting
- Email list management
🧠Keep in mind: You specifically need four topics because you wanna talk about the same things again and again to emphasise your message and be seen as an expert.
The more topics you pick, the more diluted your message will become. You wanna go in depth vertically, not farther horizontally.
Step 2: 4×7
Now, you need to cut those four core topics into 7 sub-topics each.
Don’t lose your brain cells yet. I’ve got help for you.
But first, I need you to do it yourself. Write as many subtopics as you can before you decide to take the help.
Done?
Now, here’s the help: AI.
Put this prompt in ChatGPT or Claude and see the magic.
(I got better results with Claude, but you should try both)
Prompt:
Act as an expert content marketer. Your task is to write 10 subtopics for a given main topic. Make sure that the subtopics aren’t general. Be unique and novel with your approach. The main topic is [Topic].
Do this for each of the four topics and pick the subtopics that you couldn’t think for yourself.
Once, you have 7 subtopics for each core topic, you’ll have 4×7 = 28 topics to write about.
Now, here’s the magic…
Step 3: 4x7x2
For each subtopic, you’ll write two ideas:
A) An idea that takes them on the journey from uninformed to informed about something relative to that specific topic
B) An idea that helps them achieve a specific result related to that topic
Ideas A help you move the users down the awareness stage.
Ideas B help you prove your competence.
Do this for each subtopic and by the end of it, you’ll have 4x7x2 = 56 newsletter ideas.
Now, there are two questions that must be there in your mind.
How do I execute this?
It’s fairly simple:
- You’ll assign one core topic to each week of the month for every month of the year i.e. Week 1 = Topic 1, Week 2 = Topic 2, Week 3 = Topic 3, and Week 4 = Topic 4.
(This is precisely why we picked exactly four topics in the first place)
- Now here’s your month 1 strategy:
- You’ll post type A email from any subtopic from Topic 1 on week 1.
- Post type B email from any subtopic from topic 2 on week 2.
- Post type A email from any subtopic from Topic 3 on week 3.
- Post type B email from any subtopic from Topic 4 on week 4.
- Your month 2 strategy:
- You’ll post type B email from any subtopic from Topic 1 on week 1.
- Post type A email from any subtopic from topic 2 on week 2.
- Post type B email from any subtopic from Topic 3 on week 3.
- Post type A email from any subtopic from Topic 4 on week 4.
Month 1 you did ABAB email sequence, Month 2 you’ll do BABA sequence, then again ABAB on month 3 and keep switching it for every month for the rest of the year.

Done? Now…
How do I sell?
You don’t sell in the type A emails at all.
You only sell in the type B emails. (So you’ll be selling something every other week)
Remember when I earlier told you that these topics are something “Your offers are related to”?
Exactly.
Once, you have shown them how they can do XYZ to get a specific result, you show them how your offer does it. (better or in lesser time or in an enhanced way)
Simple, right?
